The beautiful Little People, BIG DREAMS series tells and illustrates the life and work of famous people for children. The selected people have achieved great things, but they all have one theme in common: it all began with a big dream when they were little themselves. A book series that also makes us adults dream and above all gives one thing: courage and self-confidence.
Mohandas grew up in the Indian city of Porbandar and dreamed of a fairer world at an early age. As a newly minted lawyer, he went to South Africa. There he was thrown out of the 1st class train compartment - because he was not white. He then organized the first ever peaceful sit-in. Back in India, he used peaceful methods to end British colonial rule and was given the honorific Mahatma – “great soul”.
